Ashley Tisdale’s New Album — Guilty Pleasure — Due July 28th on Warner Bros. Records

Pop singer and actress Ashley Tisdale will release a new album, entitled Guilty Pleasure, on Warner Bros. Records on July 28th, 2009.
With an edgy, guitar-driven pop-rock sound, Guilty Pleasure is a creative and mature leap forward for this appealing young singer and songwriter, who launched a career as a solo artist with her gold-certified Top 5 rhythmic-pop debut Headstrong in 2007. On the new album, Tisdale collaborated with a host of top top-flight producers and songwriters, such as Kara DioGuardi (Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood), Toby Gad (Beyoncé, Fergie), Billy Steinberg (Madonna), Emanuel Kiriakou (David Archuleta, Nick Lachey), and Swedish production team Twin (Headstrong singles “Not Like That” and “Be Good To Me”), and co-wrote several tracks.
The album’s first single, “It’s Alright, It’s OK” — a spunky break-up anthem about being single and in control of your life for the first time — has been put into rotation on MTV and has been featured on such hit shows as So You Think You Can Dance and The Hills. Tisdale will perform on Walmart’s Soundcheck and AOL Sessions this summer.
Already beloved for starring in the High School Musical franchise, Tisdale took home a 2009 MTV Movie Award in the “Breakthrough Performance, Female” category for her role in High School Musical 3: Senior Year, beating out Amanda Seyfried, Freida Pinto, Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens, and Kat Dennings. Tisdale’s YouTube channel is the No. 5 Most Subscribed to channel of all time. She boasts 1.4 million Facebook fans and more Twitter followers than Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, The Jonas Brothers, and Demi Lovato.
Tisdale is currently in Europe promoting Guilty Pleasure. She returns to the U.S. this month to perform “It’s Alright, It’s OK” on Good Morning America on June 16th. The week of Guilty Pleasure’s release, Tisdale will appear on The Today Show on July 28th, The View on July 29th, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on July 30th. Tisdale is currently gracing the cover of OK Magazine. For more, please visit: www.ashleytisdale.com.
Ashley Tisdale admits she and Miley Cyrus often get into trouble because of their sarcastic humour.
The ‘High School Musical’ star and the ‘Hannah Montana’ actress are both quite opinionated, which sometimes offends people.
She said: “Miley is definitely sarcastic. She says the funniest things, but I’m like that too - you know, a little bit blunt. She completely says it how it is and some people can get offended, but she’s just being honest. I think it’s a great quality about her. She’s not afraid to say anything!
“Sometimes it gets us into trouble. People can take it the wrong way, but Miley’s young and she just says this stuff and it doesn’t really faze her. You can’t take it too seriously.”
Ashley, 23, insists the pair don’t set out to upset people but she believes it’s important to be honest.
She told Top of the Pops magazine: “I speak my mind and I might offend someone, but I won’t mean to and I don’t think she does either. We’ll say it how it is and I think that’s the best thing about a person - being honest.”
Ashley Tisdale Talks About Her ‘Guilty Pleasure’
April 16, 2009 Comments (0) - Posted by Stephany
ith the release of Zac Efron’s “17 Again” on April 17, it’s “High School Musical” alumni week. MTV News is going to catch you up on what the future holds for all of your favorite East High Wildcats!
Ashley Tisdale may have been the guilty pleasure of tween girls everywhere as Sharpay in the “High School Musical” movies, but now the singer/actress is sharing hers with the world on her aptly titled album, Guilty Pleasure, out June 16.
For the album, Tisdale worked with Toby Gadd, “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi and Billy Steinberg and embraced her rocker-chick roots, emulating such artists as Pat Benatar and Pink. “It’s different — it’s more guitar-driven … it’s pop-rock,” she said of the LP. “The first album, for me, was learning myself as an artist — and this album, I knew exactly what I wanted coming into and it’s reflecting on where I am in my life right now.”
Unlike her first album, Headstrong, Tisdale hopes to show off her “edgier” side, leaving behind the pop and R&B songs. “They’re more mature [songs], but it’s still really fun and you can rock out to it,” she said. “There are still only two ballads on it, because I want it to be something you can pop in your car or when you’re getting ready to go out you can listen to.”
The album’s first single is “I’m Alright, I’m OK,” which the singer describes as “a strong survival song.”
And for the video, Tisdale got pretty destructive, showing “90210″ actor Adam Gregory just what happens when you cross the “They Came From Upstairs” actress. “He drives away from his house, I enter his house, and I invite a lot of people over — we destroy it,” she explained. “There’s also male models there that I’m taking pictures with, I’m posing with, leaving them all around the house — so then he comes home with the girl that he is cheating on me with and sees his place is destroyed! Great revenge!”
Jared Murillo’s Dad Says Son and Ashley Tisdale ‘Might Hook Up Again’
April 16, 2009 Comments (0) - Posted by Stephany
There is possibility that Ashley Tisdale and Jared Murillo, who broke up recently, get back together again, Jared’s father Alex has said.
Jared Murillo’s father, Alex, tells People that his son and ex-girlfriend Ashley Tisdale “might hook up again” though they have just ended their romance recently. “They are in the same circle, they have the same friends. And you know what? You never know how life turns out ….. you just never know,” says the older Murillo.
“They remain good friends,” Alex reveals on how Jared and Ashley get along after they broke up. “I think it was just the right time to do what they did.”
Asked on what Jared has been doing these days, Alex tells People, “Jared is very, very happy, and is very pleased with what’s going on with his work. I think for him it’s a good time now to move forward. His background has always been performing on the road, so he’s very comfortable. It’s like his home. It is home.”
Speaking of his son’s band V Factory, Alex gushes, “They’ve got some dynamite songs. They’re going to be the big surprise of the summer.”
Ashley Tisdale and Jared Murillo had been dating for more than two years when news of their separation was made public by US Weekly late last week. Nevertheless, both of them have never addressed the matter publicly.
Ashley Tisdale Switches Agencies

Ashley Tisdale’s not only working on her fitness she’s also taking a big leap of faith. Ashley has left the agent that took her from nobody to somebody, Alex Yarosh at the Gersh Agency for CAA.
CAA is like the mothership in Hollywood, the table full of the most popular students that we look at longingly from our “outsider” tables and swallow our fish sticks. CAA is famous for poaching talent from the biggest agencies at their peak and promising them the one thing they need more of..movie stardom.
You want to star in the High School Play? You want to hang with Prom King and Queen Angelina and Brad? Leave the yearbook people (Disney) and come join the big kids table. When CAA calls most talent comes.
Only time will tell if Ashley has the talent to stay in the clique, it’s a risk to leave those friends who helped you become who you are.
